Refrigerant R-442A (RS-50)

RS-50 is an HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential and a significantly lower environmental impact than many conventional alternatives. It is particularly valued for its high energy efficiency and reduced global warming potential.
It is suitable for industrial refrigeration, commercial refrigeration and applications requiring high energy efficiency at medium and low temperatures. Due to its excellent thermodynamic performance, smaller compressors can often be used in new system designs.

RS-50 has been developed for commercial and industrial refrigeration applications seeking to combine energy efficiency, cooling performance and environmental responsibility. Its formulation delivers high coefficients of performance, helping reduce energy consumption compared with many traditional alternatives. These characteristics make it particularly attractive for medium- and low-temperature systems operating continuously, where energy efficiency has a direct impact on operating costs. In addition, its lower global warming potential supports sustainability goals and contributes to the ongoing decarbonization of the refrigeration sector.
